Perecko, Tomas

I am a scientist at the Department of Cellular Pharmacology at the Institute of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. Our group is focused on the biology of neutrophils in physiological and pathological conditions, with focus on neutrophils´ role in rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.

Models/diseases available:

  • Human - rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, SLE, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease
  • Rat - adjuvant arthritis

Cells available:

  • Neutrophils (human, rat) - functional differences between healthy volunteers, disease specific (see abov) and treated (biological therapy vs classical therapy) patients´ neutrophils, different sub-populations of neutrophils in all considered groups
  • Monocytes/macrophages (human) - functional analysis and Mo/MΦ sub-sets
  • Platelets - activation status, senescence
